Do you like noodles? Do you often eat noodles? Whether you think noodles are delicious, or because it is convenient to prepare pasta at home, or you just eat pasta when you don’t know what to eat... Be careful! A nutritionist reminds, "Eating the wrong noodles can make you fat!"
Dietitian Zhu Ruijun pointed out on Facebook that noodles are made by grinding wheat into powder, so they are digested and absorbed very quickly, and eating too much can easily lead to fat accumulation and obesity. She reminds the following dos and don'ts for pasta choices.
Zhu Ruijun explained that from the perspective of the refined system of pasta, NG noodles include: white noodles, noodles, knife-cut noodles, udon noodles, oil noodles, spaghetti noodles, chicken noodles; relatively OK noodles are: buckwheat noodles, Whole wheat pasta, whole wheat pasta, durum wheat pasta (slightly firmer), konjac pasta, etc. Because fried noodles are high in calories, such as chicken noodles, pot roast pasta, prince noodles, Cantonese fried noodles, etc., these noodles will be fried first in the production process, so the heat is high.
Zhu Ruijun explained that it is better to choose knife-cut noodles and udon noodles than thin noodles, because the surface area is less, the proportion of absorbing sauce and oil is lower, and the calorie intake will be less.
In addition, the cooking method and collocation also determine the calories of a meal and affect whether it is easy to gain weight! Regarding the various types of noodles in snack restaurants outside, Zhu Ruijun pointed out that NG noodles with high calorie content include fried noodles, sesame sauce noodles, thick soup noodles, soup noodles (thickened), large intestine noodles (thickened), and pasta with cream sauce. The public can choose the more OK ones, such as: noodles in clear soup, dry noodles mixed with vinegar, and dried meatTossed pasta, sautéed spaghetti in olive oil. For example, Yangchun noodle soup has the lowest calories, about 325 calories per bowl.
Furthermore, the "appropriate amount of noodles" of noodles and side dishes can ease the absorption efficiency. For side dishes, you can choose high-quality protein such as: shredded chicken, shredded pork, beef tendon, marinated egg, dried tofu, tripe; vegetables with 1-2 dishes such as: blanched vegetables, marinated kelp/radish, kimchi, cold dishes, etc.
If you want to eat noodles without gaining weight, another important point is to adjust the "eating order"! Zhu Ruijun emphasized that the order of eating noodles is: vegetables→clear soup→proteins and other meats→noodles; start with low-calorie vegetables or soup to cushion the stomach, and then take in protein after feeling full, and noodles are eaten last. Slow down the digestion of starch and reduce the accumulation of fat.
