9 Popular Restaurants Failed! Food And Drug Administration Inspection Results: Wacheng Raw Materials Are Overdue, And The Number Of Bacteria In Sushi Lang Salad Exceeds The Standard

Taiwan's specialty food and popular restaurants are rich and diverse. Due to the epidemic this year, domestic food restaurants are popular places. The Food and Drug Administration launched a special inspection of "local popular tourist attractions food restaurants" in April this year, which will be announced today (29th). From April 1st to July 31st, 2019, the Food and Drug Administration inspected a total of 164 companies. The inspection items included: Good Food Hygiene Practice (GHP), food business registration, product liability insurance and food labeling, etc. Sampling and testing its finished products, sauces, fresh fruits and vegetables, shrimp or oysters.

The Food and Drug Administration also announced today the results of the inspection of "food restaurants in popular tourist attractions". There are 2 businesses that store expired food, namely "Wacheng Taitong Zhubei Guangming Store" and Miaoli "Suzhou". Villa Manor Restaurant", each with a fine of NT$120,000 and NT$60,000.

In the unqualified part of the menu labeling, a total of 3 restaurants were found whose menus were labeled as "cod fish", but the raw materials used were non-cod fish. The three restaurants are: Hsinchu "Yixuan Private Cuisine", Taichung "Ya Yuan Xinchao Wedding Banquet Hall" and Tainan "My Private Kitchen" have each been fined 40,000 yuan by the health bureau under their jurisdiction.

Another company with "excessive bacterial counts" is "Taiwan Sushiro Taipei Zhonghua Road Store". The store's "Matsuba Crab and Shrimp Salad" was still unqualified after repeated sampling. The number of Escherichia coli bacteria exceeded the standard. A fine of NT$30,000 was imposed.

There are 3 operators in the unqualified part of pesticide residues, namely: "Xiao Mengniu Hsinchu Jingpin Store", "Qianba Hot Pot Taitung Sovereign Restaurant" and "Kafinunu" in Zhudong. The pesticide residues of chrysanthemum and coriander were unqualified, and they have been transferred to the agricultural administration unit to trace the source for follow-up treatment.
